Finding Videos

To locate video recordings, you can go to the library catalog and use the advanced search. On the advanced search screen, you can use the drop-down menus to limit your item type to "DVD" or "videorecording" ("videorecording" will bring up VHS tapes).

Music Databases

African American Song This database features tracks of great historical recordings including jazz, blues, gospel, ragtime, folk songs, narratives, and more.

Smithonian Global Sound A collection of world music that includes "more than 35,000 individual tracks of music, spoken word, and natural and human-made sounds."

Access to these databases is limited to W&M users.

 

Finding Music

Looking for audio recordings? These are kept in the Music Library in Ewell Hall.

To search for them, use the library catalog. Under the advanced search, you can choose "Music & Sound Recordings" as your catalog format.

To search for CDs only (and not records) choose "Compact Disc" as your item type.
