About

This subject guide offers electronic database, printed and other web resources for research on the life and writings of Toni Morrison.

Books on the life and writings of Toni Morrison can be found in the Swem Library Catalog by using Morrison Toni as a subject heading.  Look especially under the subject term: Morrison Toni - Criticism and interpretation.  Many, but not all, relevant titles will be found in the call number range beginning PS3563 .O8749.  These books will be on the third floor.

If Swem Library does not own the title you are looking for, search in OCLC World Cat for libraries where it can be found and enter an Interlibrary Loan request for the title.

You can also try Google Books, a full-text database of books based on holdings in several major research libraries. Books under copyright will be available only in brief, snippet view.

Google Scholar , a multidisciplinary database of scholarly material may provide some useful scholarship but full-text coverage of academic literary titles is  limited.

If you are having problems, please email me at afzoel@wm.edu to make an appointment or call the Reference Desk at 757-221-3067
